Note that NingXia Red does not contian pear, apple or white grape juice. These are known in the industry as "junk juices" because they are cheap and provide sweetness while adding no nutritional value. Unfortunately these junk juices contribute to a spike in blood sugar levels (see comparison) because they are high glycemic.

Each of the juices in NingXia Red were chosen specifically because of the fruit's well-documented health benefits and combined in such a way that the value of the whole is much greater than the sum of any individual ingredient.

Finally, SOD activity provides a good measurement of the care with which these ingredients are bottled so that the goodness of each of these fruits are retained.
